Posted: 27 August 2014 By Gingerboy

If you have ever been a guest at Gingerboy, you will be familiar with our cocktail list. The three cocktails below have starred on our list from day dot, and have become legendary in the minds of many of our regular clientele.

We thought we would release some of the insider tricks of the trade and give all of you out there the “secret” ingredients of our classic and much loved cocktails: THE Gingergirl, Gin no Name and The Thai Moon.

THE Gingergirl

45ml vodka of your choice
15ml ginger liqueur
45ml pineapple juice
15ml citrus (lemon or lime juice)
15ml sugar syrup
4 mint leaves, torn
6-8 pieces of ginger, muddled well

Muddle ginger in a boston glass and add torn mint. Add remaining ingredients and shake well. Single strain everything into an ice filled rocks glass and garnish with a mint sprig and ginger pieces.

Gin No Name

45ml gin of your choice
15ml lychee liqueur
30ml sugar syrup
30ml lemon juice
2 kaffir lime leaves
4-5 pieces of lemongrass

Muddle kaffir lime leaves & lemongrass. Add the remaining ingredients and shake well. Double strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a Kaffir lime leaf.

Thai Moon

45ml house-made chilli vodka
15ml vanilla liqueur
15ml lime juice
dash of home-made gula mulaka
large pinch coriander
4-6 pieces of ginger
4-6 pieces of lemongrass

Muddle coriander, ginger & lemongrass in a boston. Add remaining ingredients and shake. Place all muddled and shaken ingredients into a tall glass and garnish with a chilli and lemongrass stalk.

Imagine the delight of all of your friends when you serve up a home-made Gingergirl at your next party or surprise them with our spicy Thai Moon at that next social affair. Or, picture whipping up a Gin No Name in the comfort of your home after a hard days work...

Enjoy everyone, and don’t forget, our bar team will always be here to prepare the perfect cocktail for you with that professional touch.
